Faunsdale, AL | The zero phase is shorted to ground/frame. It’s possible that the generator could be “corner grounded” and if you have 480 between the other two, the pivot might run.
You wouldn’t have any 277 if that’s required. Did it ever have 277 to the neutral?
Trying to determine if it is a Y wound generator which would have a neutral so you could have 480 line to line and 277 from any line to neutral.
The other possibility is 480 delta which typically would not have a neutral, but could have the center of a phase grounded so you could get 240 line to N on two phases. The other phase would be 416 to the neutral. More common on the delta would be no neutral and use of a small transformer to get low voltage for controls. | |
