I shake my head at the drama over buyers premiums. Let’s say I budgeted $25,000 on a hopper bottom. I see one coming up on a online auction. OMG a 15% premium HMMM my phone has this tab called calculator let’s see 21,500 times 1.15 equals 24.725 so if I quit clicking next bid at $21,500 I will stay within my budget. I’m just a dumb college drop out but seems simple to me. If you don’t like the buyers premium don’t bid fine by me your one less person to compete against.
I hate buyers premiums, but I'm with tomcat on this. Just do the math in your head like buying pound cows. Sometimes I get more bought when there's a big buyers premium as there is less competition usually. |
