Custom operators around here are quoting a price per acre, plus fuel. They arrive full, leave full.
I'm picky about fuel quality.
Some of my customers use fuel from suppliers that I won't use. Too much dirt/water.
When I started custom harvesting, my rates were without fuel. Then I got bad fuel from customers a couple times. Or they thought they had enough in their tanks, but didn't quite have enough to fill everything. I ended up raising my rates and supplying my own fuel, it worked out better that way.
