Subject: Suggestion on approach to absentee landlord

Nebraska
Have a neighbor who passed away several years ago. When he retired from farming, he split his ground among 5 growers, which I thought was wise of him as it gave everyone an extra piece of ground instead of just 1 grower. I was just getting out of college at the time and entered the workforce.

As these 5 growers continue to get older, I’d like to let the daughter know of my interest in the ground if any of the guys decide to retire. She no longer lives around this area, but we do know her and her husband. Any suggestions on how to approach this situation? Maybe a letter to show her interest, in how we operate, etc. ? I’m totally open to suggestions as how to approach this. I don’t want it at all to sound like we want it today, just if one of them retire (I’m sure 2 of them will within the next 5 year). Never quite been in this situation…
