Kettle Moraine, WI | If you ever get a chance to visit Szczecin it does have quite the history. I spent a week there. The Pomeranian dukes castle and the city museum tell quite the story (in German and English). When the area was seceded to Poland at end of wwii, the Germans went to German and Poles from all over Poland moved in. The communist rule left many bloc housing units across town. Much of the German brick roads still exist in the town. The towns layout was made by same designer as Paris with town center and road layout. Today it is a nice, medium sized leaning modern town.
