Osakis,Mn | Great Grandfather on Dad’s side came from Norway in 1883. He started living on the farm I live on in 1885, couldn’t get clear title until 1904 because 2 railroad companies were in court to decide who owned it!!
On my Mom’s side her Father came from Norway in 1902 as a teenager, had an uncle in Chicago that he stayed with a while, eventually making it to North Central Iowa, where he rented a farm all his farming life from a wealthy family that lived in town. When he and grandma retired he bought his first house in town. | |
