Our family landed in Canada in 1659. I think where Quebec city is now. Supposedly was the first family to own land at the time in that area. Thus beginning a multi century legacy of farming debt.
Mine was same in 1659 to Montreal one of the orginal settlers I think. Probably the same guy looking at your last name. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olivier_Charbonneau. My family moved to Kansas sometime in the 1860s at least on that side of the family and the name got butchered. |
