nw/nc iowa on the banks of West Buttrick Creek.. | Grandfather came in 1913 to Calhoun and Green County Iowa, came to work for a family couple miles north of Churdan. He worked as a hired man, then rented a farm, then bought one of the best quarters in Greene co . He had a stroke @ age 36, his 13 and 15 year old sons and as a hired man worked the farm, while gpa managed the farm. Lived till he was 60. We lost track of the family in Germany till 1993, but in 2005 took my dad to visit 11 first cousin at a family gathering.
