coast of Maine
I have learned to shift the duties that require detail to the employees whom are deemed a bit slower.Often its doing it correct in their minds.I have an operator who runs his unit slow, steady, real time spent on morning service, drives my nosy neighbor nuts when my slower guy is running 4mph instead of their 6 mph at same job.On their farm injuries abound, wrecked junk equip ran balls/wall,one of their rigs went buy yesterday with not even a hood left on the tractor. My slower guy always gets it done correct with very few damage issues.I also realize that as employees age their systems slow.I do know it is best to not keep the dollar clock ticking in your head on employees costs, that angst is hard only on you.I believe the slower guy will make you $$ if finding the right slot. Some run an internal control on slow cruise as thats just the way they work.Find him a good spot,,sound like the CDL use would be good IMO.I am absolutely sure I net more than my speed at any cost neighbor.
