WC MN | Ha, ha, ice cream is a good description, have a corner of one farm (and adjoining twp road) that consistently will not thaw until very late May or early June. Landlords solution was to always plant when frost was out a few inches which works fine in wheat but is tough on corn. Mostly this is a cold place, local shuttle loaders biggest concern is getting high enough TW every year since farmers love to grow too much 97-101 day corn which will indeed have a high likelihood of making 200+ dryland on average rainfall of 25" more or less. | |
