SW Ontario | Who is corrupt? Mostly the government:. Both fascist and communist elements exist. People stopped paying taxes there years ago because they know this. Lots of goods trade on the black market.
Millions of people don't flee a country just because of war. They would defend it fiercely if they had faith in the leadership. Only the ones with vested economic interests are going to stay put.
I agree with some of the other posters on this thread that a lot of Western democracies including ours are headed down the same road. Who wants to pay taxes to a corrupt leadership, or work for that matter, only to have half of it go to taxes that support an incompetent government?
