We are a HVAC company that will install water heaters for folks inquiring. We like the AO Smith brand as their price point is very good for us to pass on to our customers. I am fairly certain that if you purchased it from a "dealer" that it has a 7 year warranty on the tank. I would be calling your installing dealer about this issue if I was me.
