So yes, you can find anything if you want to go looking that closely. As for the 'lifetime' aspect depends on what it is, and where it is stored in the body I would suppose.
Like trace amounts of problem elements in food and water, there would have been an acceptable limit of how much remained after the withdraw period, and how precise the testing was when limits were set - which have evolved over time as testing improved.
