I'm sure that you could get waste milk from the dairy where you buy the calves. If I don't have any waste, I will dump high SCC cows to feed the calves, which lowers my tank SCC and increases the value of the milk I sell.



FWIW: I don't have a pasteurization system. The bugs I would worry about passing through milk are mastitis bugs, and I don't care if the bulls get mastitis. I milk high cell cows last, and pull milk for heifers at the beginning of milking and bulls at the end. It works pretty well for me, hoping my bred animal numbers are high enough this fall to cull aggressively for SCC.
