Yes, as a rate controller, a FMX works very well. Once calibrated your acres to empty will be very accurate and repeatable.

For our old Hagie, we added a servo valve on the boom side, and used the Raven on manual to run the system to a set pressure, usually 60psi, then the FM controlled the servo valve and read the flow meter. This is from the first days of FIQ where it lacked the features it has now.
