ESW ND | Sorry, I can't answer your question, but here's my story.... We use to use a 770 for a number of years. Only had a 130hp tractor to pull it will. Would usually shear 3-6 bolts a year, doing corn. Several years later we eventually got a 185hp tractor to replace the smaller one. From reading on the web, I was going to have nothing but problems and I was going to damage that cutter with that hp. Complete opposite. That made our old, very wore out cutter a whole new machine. I sheared 1 bolt in 3 years. It was absolutely amazing. But then I was even more amazed when we rented my FIL's JD3970.....I actually looked forward to chopping corn. | |
