A 1/4 beef and 1/2 hog will take about the same room. We can easily get a whole beef in a 21cuft freezer and 1/2 beef in a 10cuft freezer. Several times we have had a 1/4 beef and 1/2 hog in a 10 cuft but there is not much excess room. Like others said go as big as you can.
