Subject: RE: Farm Olympics

Neighbor did this some years ago. Pasture Golf. Cut off bottom 3 inches of a 5 gallon bucket and bury for a hole. 18 holes each with a theme. One hole went under a tractor, one was a camp site hole was the camp fire with an opening on one side, one had square bales, one was going under a bee hive ( no bees ), one had channel iron making a ramp, He had a full 18 hole course so room for a lot of people to play at the same time. Red neck/country put-put golf on a grand scale. Used croquet balls and mallets so everything was to scale. Tee to hole on most holes was about 50 feet with some longer and some shorter. Everyone enjoyed and most played more than one round. Just mowed the course out of the hayfield next to the house with a lawnmower. One year was pasture pool. Same croquet balls and mallets with light poles for the table bumpers. Each table was like 8 foot by 16 foot. One year was bowling. Two light poles side by side big ends together for ball return and a pole on each side to form 2 lanes. Plywood for surface and real balls and pins he bought cheap from an alley. Hired some kids to set pins and put balls on the return poles. All were fun but the golf course allowed a more leisurely game and also accommodated more players at any given time.
