SE ND | There was a bad batch of pens, they didn't put the acid in the ink that etches into the tag. Argued with Z tags to get the tags and pens replaced, they said "they were tired of replacing tags after so long." Asked for us to send pictures of the tags, they were basically blank what did they want to see? The tags in question were marked Spring of 2020 and were unreadable that fall. They were lucky we should have billed them for all the time we spent catching, sorting, and remaking tags. Z tags knows which pens they are, we threw away all our pens because apparently guys were getting old pens mixed up after being sent new pens. Z tags could have sent an email or had a notice on the tag packages so a guy could have just thrown away all the pens and started over.
