The dollar will do what they want it to do.

Almost all currencies are controlled by central banks (not all countries do it but almost all). There is around 164 central banks all under the control of the Bank of International Settlements. Unelected, unaccountable to any of its member countries. The BIS determines where currencies need to go and the central banks make it happen. Yes, the BIS has a website telling you this is what they do.

So in regards to the $us, just ask the people at the BIS where it's going because they decide. No one in media or government has actually thought of asking though, or even requesting a seat at the table of the BIS to be involved in deciding where their own currency is headed.

If you thought you had free markets then no country would be a member of the BIS. So when you read through their website, the first question is why does arrangement this exist to begin with.
