Southeast | The tailgate is on a different circuit fed from the tractor. The density is a closed system. Over time the cylinder(s) start to leak at the piston and 'equalize' the pressure while making a bale. When I rebuilt my 504, I also disassembled the pressure adjust block and cleaned it, blew out the lines and replaced the gauge. Not for sure on the 605 but on mine I had to cobble up some fittings and hoses to recharge the system from the tractor. If you don't have the stuff (or can't borrow the hoses from another piece of equipment) and your Vermeer dealer is fairly close it may be cheaper to haul it to them to do the charge. I took my cylinders to a local hydraulic shop and they rebuilt them for $100 each. The kits were going to cost me over $60 each. To me, it was a no brainer to let them do the rebuild. | |
