Lancaster PA | I know a guy who said years ago they fed al ot of food waste to hogs. Included in that was ground up packaged soup/noodles in Styrofoam. He said if it rained right after they hauled manure you could see the particles everywhere. On the general topic of plastics.... I remember in the 90s when I was in elementary school it was a huge deal that we were getting rid of tree killing milk cartons in favor of the plastic bags filled with milk. I remember posters showing how small the pile of trash was with plastic bags vs cartons. That's was great but now we are realizing that small pile of plastic takes a lot longer to break down than the bug pile of cartons. | |
