Central NC | We stayed at a nice Holiday Inn express about 1 mile from farmers market, a few other hotels at that exit also, nice restaurants nearby within nearly walking distance, Bryson City about 25 miles west, you can take railroad for nice site seeing, unsure if any covid restrictions exist as we were there before covid , we tried to go downtown Ashville but it was so crowded we never found a parking spot and streets blocked, hotel and restaurants imo way overpriced within Biltmore Complex, we enjoyed the farmers market, I think they have a nice restaurant but didn’t try it, check on the web for Bryson train schedules, the Natahala river and rafting is somewhat near, but forgot how far, we noticed Steam was coming off the river, walked down to the river and felt like ice water
