When farmers in the corn belt fed a few loads of cattle every year with the feed that was raised right next to their cattle lots events like this did not happen on such a grand scale. But we must remember 1000 farmers feeding 100,000 cattle with corn on the farm is not as efficient as one conglomerate feeding 100,000 in one lot with corn shipped a 1,000 miles with all hired help so we are told.
