I have used sunfilm gold successfully at 6 or 7 layers with proper tension and with the line on a good, smooth, well drained surface. I look for about 4.5 inches of overlap on a std 30” roll. More plastic may be “cheap” relative to feed costs but it does present more of a waste disposal problem.  If I was younger I’d be organizing or investing in a bale wrap recycling company!
