I read about a guy years ago who would drill triticale into an alfalfa stand in the fall and then take a bigger first crop yield with the 2 crops together ( probably for heifer feed) and then plant corn or soybeans on this ground. Just a way to grow more feed on limited acres. I never got the chance to try it, because the last time corn was over $7.00 I sold the cows and rented the farm out. This idea is just for conversation. Do you use rye after corn silage for feed? Always a good feeling to have plenty of feed on hand.
