1 gallon of water with agitation will dissolve almost 4 lbs of spray grade AMS.
I never considered the exact amounts to be critical. Most labels ask for 8 to 14 lbs of AMS per 100 gal. That's quite a variance. It's not like mixing Pinnacle at 1/4 oz per acre.
