I plant mine with a 1760, no trouble with cornstalks or being too light. It does a very good job for the price.

Same. Although I have liquid fertilizer tanks on mine so that adds weight, especially if they have something in them.

If the stalks are too tall I think they can knock the row unit drive chains off, mine came with some different style tensioner for those chains that isn't going to let them get knocked off at that spot very easily.
