What_If - 5/18/2022 06:28 Agree Local bar/restaurant now has a cash discount. The receipt says something line, "Your total includes a cash discount. Any payment with credit card will have discount added back." Doubt many even realize what that means. Kinda spooky the way some cashiers at the local convenience store almost shrug when someone pays in cash. More work for them I guess.

This is because the credit card companies are charging extortional fees to process the transactions.  Funny thing is, I used to not carry much cash at all and normally swipe a card- but lately, especially since the Rona, I often carry 100-300 worth of greenbacks because so many of the local bars, restaurants, grocers, even lumberyard,  are giving discounts.  It's 4% off the top for paying with cash at the place my fiancee works, and similar many others around here.
