"Here" in "our" soils you'll do your first pass of tillage and think "my god what have I done..." Green sod is a nightmare... Moldboard plowing doesn't even work "here" in the spring. Now if you had a rototiller and patience of a god to go 1.5-2mph across the field at 12' per pass - OK fine.

Edit to add: My experience is breaking up CRP for organic production. I had an awful seed bed as the sod didn't fall apart. Plow, whisek, offset disc, high speed disc, and field cultivator were the tools used - all in different timings etc. All with disappointing results.
