Subject: “Wild West of Canadian Grain Trading”

Yesterday I posted about Constantini out of British Colombia deducting $6.40 per bushel from an $8.40 organic oat contract for 1 load that I shipped last week.

This morning I spoke with a compliance officer with the Canadian Grain Commission. He said that unfortunately even though I have a solid complaint against Constantini there is nothing in Canadian law that allows him to help. He also said that due to the ways the laws are written Canada is currently “ the Wild West of Grain Trading”.

It’s only 1 load for a loss of $8,200. After poking around a bit- this is how these guys do business. Are there enough guys out there that have been shafted by Constantini for a class action lawsuit?
