I’ve noticed the seed weight too over the years. Can’t say I’ve ever see a negative effect on the fall harvest test weight. I do know I much rather throw 32 bags of 38 lb bags than 32 58 lb bags to fill the planter!
I’m not an agronomist, so take for what it’s worth- just the sweat and muscle required.
