Subject: Getting a few soybeans planted

East Central Arkansas

We finally got started planting some soybeans. In the picture this is last years corn ground that we made two passes with the bedder plows and then it took two do-all passes to get in shape for planting. We got our soybean pre chemical sprayed and then got like a 2.5 inch rain. The ground went from wet to sort of hard and crusty pretty fast. We should have got started a couple of days sooner with planting beans but had corn that needed fertilizer first. We did catch about one tenth of a inch rain yesterday mourning. Ground is not as smooth as I would like so having to run the old Quad Range JD 4760 in B range 1 and two instead of C range.
