Is there a method to deciding what machine you use to cut hay?

Well......

There is some thought that went into it. Our main mower is the NH self propelled. I've got a retired guy that runs it, and it's his baby. He gets it done. We really need a second one.

The little red NH pull type is one we are forced to keep around to use on a couple farms that the big one won't fit through gates or bridges to get to the field.

The Vermeer pull type is one I borrowed from the equipment dealership to try out, and also get a video of it running in the field for a prospective customer. Being able to cut on both sides of the tractor is nice when mowing in the same field as the self propelled, so that the different width of mown swaths don't make a mess for raking. Each guy can stay on a separate end of the field and work towards the middle.
