I don’t necessarily like the looks of solar panels or the idea of using good ground for it but farmers beat their brains out planting a crop, tending to it, fertilizing, combining, binning and drying, hauling to market, where more energy is used to convert it to ethanol. Solar panels accomplish the same thing. Just hook them up to the electrical lines. Seems like solar panels are the better, more efficient alternative to ethanol. And yes I plant corn.


except I think it takes more energy to mine, produce, install, maintain a solar array than it does a cornfield. And solar panels don't respirate and have any "living" benefits.


The life of these panels will be 30-40 years. Maintenance is extremely low. There is no way it takes more energy to put up a solar array than growing and harvesting corn for 30 years. Good grief.
