Wife is buying a house on Gulf Coast now. She looked at it day after being placed on market, asking $296k. Seller agreed to reduce $6k for HVAC replacement. We agreed to price and view one more time to decide.
Previous looker offers $290k cash to beat our offer. I was bothered that a bidding war was about to happen so offer was made at $290k + $1. Buyer agreed and while we were doing paperwork, the looker calls and she tells them it is sold for more than his offer. He countered at cash list price and the sellers told him again it is sold.
Contract was signed contingent on finance approval within 30 days. Couple phone calls to bank got approval in 3 days.
Previous looker was pizzed and offered $300k cash to break the deal. Seller refused.
We will be selling current house after moving to newer house and looking forward to being in drivers seat as seller.
Better get after it if you want to be in the drivers seat…. Interest rates are starting to rise and the driver is getting slowly switched out…
