deep in the southeastern corner of Idaho | Ran a cat 988G loader at an industrial plant for years. Cat would come train us. The Loader operator would get first bucket of material in the air and truck driver backs under. The Loader operator would be responsible to put the truck so that, as he came out of the pile he would articulate and move over the truck to dump bucket. The proper positioning was no more that 1 1/2 revolutions on the tire backing from pile and 1 1/2 revolutions to the truck. You set your truck at a 45 degree angle to the pile. Cat would grade the loader operator in training. Time and tire wear were very critical. Also it was a very big NO NO to have a tire slip while getting a bucket of material. |
