Southeast WI
Best explanation was last time fert prices went sky high about what 12-14 years ago? I was touring the mosaic phosphate mine in Florida. Good tour if you've never been btw. This was the 2nd time I was there. The tour guide was very candid when asked why dap was $1000 per ton. He said because the market would bear that price. He said they work just over the cost of production most years just like farmers do. At that time we had $5 corn and he said $1000 dap was their $5 corn. Only happens a few times in a career so they are going to charge for it! It's not rocket science.
