NW IL | What GPS are you running? How exactly is capstan receiving GPS?
Sounds to me like someone setup a splitter to send gps to both smartrax and capstan at same time. Its possible that both the smartrax and capstan have both TX and RX connected.
Take a look at the following articles regarding splitters.

I'm guessing maybe you are running a Phoenix 300. Port A is connect to viper pro and port B is "split" to both the smartrax and capstan. Pay attention to TX and RX and how they are wired to the two devices. | |
