Phosphorus makes quality, nitrogen and Sulfur make tons.

You have to put the nitrogen out if you want yield. P is optional for better quality and less mining of your soil if you have a descent soil test.
31-10-0-7 type blend is very common here. Rate would depend on budget and yield goal.

Guys plant anywhere from 10 to 50 pounds of seed. The dryer your area is the less you plant. Stems get bigger the thinner you go so quality goes down. But if your in a low rainfall area 50# will burn up. I’d used whatever the locals are telling you for round one. Next time you’ll have some idea if you want to adjust it.
