Subject: RE: 5400 Case IH drill

I also bought a 5400 drill this past winter and I am also trying to figure out setting for it Mine is a 7 1/2 inch spacing with every other row plugged to make 15 inch spacing My book and chart under hopper lid only has 7 1/2 inch chart spacing so I am using 7 1/2 chart and doubling settings on indicator My book also says to use the right side of the adjusting lever as the indicator I am also using the regular speed settings on the sprocket chart At 2600 seeds per lb to get 160000 seeds per acre it say a setting of 16 would get you 123 lb in 7 1/2 inch rows divided by 2 (15 in) 123 x2600=319800 divided by 2 =159900 seeds per acre
