South Central NE | I asked this question to my insurance guy last year. Had a farm that 40 acres was designed to irrigate out of a reused pit. A few pivots had gone up in the years before and we were looking at no recharge in the pit the second week of July. I was told if it was certified irrigated but you are unable to irrigate because of unforseen problems you would still be covered as irrigated. You do have to show you exhausted all avenues.
He said the only time it got messy was for example you transitioned from gravity to pivot but your pivot arrived late or not at all. The farm could still be irrigated with pipe and insurance would expect that. | |
