With NH3 it is really about getting it on in good field conditions more than vegetative timing as with liquid/urea. I like to start around V3-v4. Does less headland damage. This gives you some time on the back side if weather turns on you. Always feel sidress NH3 takes a little longer to become available to the roots, so earlier is better.
