Boone Co. Iowa | Saw a guy planting corn yesterday on HWY 30 west of Ames. Just one. Looked way too wet.
Hard for some guys to sit. Planting early (according to calendar) has been rewarded with good yields the past 10 years around here. Be interesting to see if this is the 11th.
Looking at temps, any replant decisions on fields planted yesterday, a guy would have to wait 2-3 weeks.
Precision dealer yesterday was telling me stories about guys who planted NW of us last week. Used “mucky” “tacky” “cloddy” a little bit too much for my taste.
We got a solid rain last night and more schedule later in week. Ugh. | |
