NE Iowa | You are right in Iowa they need to do a wetland, highly erodible, and endangered species determination. Went through it about 4 times. It never stopped me from doing what I wanted in the end. Need to do the 1026 any time you try and bring any new land into production that has never had crop history. Clearing timber, converting permanent pasture to crop, etc. Then if it goes well you need to pay FSA to measure the new area. Usually like $50. I think if they catch you not doing the 1026 they can make you ineligible for any farm programs on not just the new acres but all the acres you farm. | |
