Subject: RE: Inflation and Oil

Boone Co. Iowa
I had in my head that inflation is/will tamp down the economy and peoples spending.

Went to Ames, Ia yesterday for some groceries. Could not believe how busy store was, or how busy streets were mid-afternoon.

Maybe inflation will slow housing and vehicle sales (or already has), but folks are still spending $ at the grocery stores and Wal-mart. I expect those things to slow down, but at this point inflation isn’t inflicting much pain. Well, maybe pain, but not enough to make folks throttle back.

I think we get a recession after the summer. I think we see much higher prices (20%?) in most items over the summer….
