Subject: Inflation and Oil

Heart of Ohio

Does any single commodity influence inflation more than oil? Seems to me it's a reasonable conclusion. If so .. can inflation really run wild for long if crude remains in the $100.00 area and less? Gas prices have taken a reasonable dip from it's highs in my area, actually filled up with sub 3.50 a gallon gas last week in Lima. Diesel hasn't participated in that drop so much yet, still upper 4's here.
Article from the "Insider" back in 2014 claimed that every 1 cent drop on a gallon of gas freed up a billion dollars for the American consumer, guess it might make a difference where those freed up dollars go.
With the dollars current strength, it still must be the prettiest girl in the leaper colony? And ..... when does this dollar strength take it's toll on USA grains and commodities?
Interesting times indeed.
