Does anyone know what percentage of people are invested in the stock market? I would think that gains in peoples portfolios would help cushion/offset inflation if not have them well ahead.

About 55% own stocks...The top 10% own $969,000 in stocks while the next 40% own $132,000 in stocks and the rest average $54,000..At my age I'm out of the stock market as I remember what happened in 2008...45% own no stock and lots of retirees just live on SS alone..My MIL was living on $1000 per month when she passed last year..A 68 year old friend exists on $800 per month.
