| The computer doesn’t really know the soot level. It has a pressure sensor on the inlet and outlet of the DPF (filter housing). It measure the difference to determine how (if) clogged up it is. If one of the sensors is bad it could throw that code I suspect.
Most any newer DPF equipped machine will do MUCH better and give way less trouble if you run it more or less wide open all the time. Regulate your speed with the transmission, not the engine. It makes way less soot (the particles that clog up the filter) at operating temp and higher rpms. Some people just don’t like to hear it running like that. Get some earplugs or muffs. They’re WAY cheaper than working on the emissions
