Strathcona, mn | A 1434 is a 3 section disk, the 1444 is a 4 section frame. IMO the 4 section frame is better. The 4 section frame has a flex point in the middle of the main frame. If you hit a rock or go through a ditch the frame flexes and follow the contour better. I’ve owned a 1441, 1443, and now a 1544. The 1400 is the frame weight /blade designation. The second 4 is the number of frame sections, and the final number is the age of the series, high equals newer. The 1500 frame is heavier and larger widths than the 1400 frames. 1440 frames go up to 35’ and the 1540 frames go up to 45’.
